A COFFEE WITH LOUISE FROM LOUISE ALISON FLOWERS

What is your drink of choice?

As a dear friend likes to remind me, I’m always drinking something, or looking for the next drink. Be that water, coffee, vege juice or wine. 😉

Tell us a little bit about yourself?

I’m a wife, a mum, a dog mum, a loyal friend and nature lover. Growing flowers has come second nature to me, with a passion for growing since I was a child. I’ve always loved using my hands, and a return to the earth is what I needed after a long term desk bound creative job. You can find me pottering around our rental site in Wamboin, and our soon to be home in Araluen valley.

Tell us about Louise Alison Flowers and how it came to be?

Louise Alison Flowers came to be from a love of the natural world. After studying Floristry and realising quite quickly how many chemicals are present on cut flowers, I decided to take the plunge and start a micro cut flower business in our rental home’s backyard. With a small patch, an impending drought, a wild toddler and a passion for home grown flowers, I committed myself to using only home grown flowers or locally grown chemical free flowers from the region. Every time I create an arrangement I know the love and care that has been given to the soil, the seed, and the final product. All arrangements are finished with a naturally dyed ethical silk ribbon, which I dye from found materials in and around our home. Growing with nature and true to the local seasons, you will find my slow flowers through Spring, Summer and Autumn.
