A GIN AND SODA WITH SAMI FROM ALLEGRO EDUCATION
Tell us a little bit about yourself?
My name is Sami, I’m 27, I have a wonderful husband who works in IT cyber security and a four month old daughter. I am a chronic pain sufferer, small business owner and Early Intervention Teacher (I teach children with disabilities, chronic or terminal health conditions and developmental delays)
Tell us about Allegro Education and how it came to be?
Allegro Education started after I left my job in Early Childhood Education and Care due to my chronic pain condition. Originally, It started as a business providing music based playgroups, until I met a fantastic educational therapist who introduced me to Early Intervention. I absolutely fell in love with it and I haven’t looked back. Now, I get to travel all across Canberra supporting families with children who have a range of needs, and assist them in reaching their NDIS goals or developmental milestones through play. Essentially, I get to play all day AND I get to make a difference. I’m pretty lucky!
How can we support Allegro Education?
Small steps on social media really do make an impact. Like, share or comment on our posts so we can increase our reach and find families that need support.
Any advice for those who are thinking about turning their dreams into a reality?
Research, read and find others who have done something similar! I have met some amazing people within the disability and education sectors and everyone is happy to chat and share words of wisdom. Finding a good mentor definitely inspired me to chase my dream and I hope one day I can do the same for others.
