Tell us a little bit about yourself?

I’m a Canberra girl and have been my whole life. I grew up here and often find myself exploring around Canberra trying out as many food venues as possible.

On the weekends you’ll find me in one of 3 places, curled up on the couch laptop at the ready playing as much sims as possible, hanging out with my friends drinking and laughing so hard I begin to cry. And lastly you’ll find me on the hockey fields either playing, managing, coaching or just there to support my club.

Tell us about Average Jo Photography and how it came to be?

I have been lucky enough to run my own photography business since 2019, Business actually started a little bit by accident. I was helping out a friend who really wanted some family photos done, and I absolutely loved her daughters so thought why not? I came away from the shoot and sent the photos through to her. She instantly got me on the phone to tell me this wasn’t just a hobby anymore, I had to share my skills and passions with the world! For the next couple of months we sat down and got everything sorted, and now here I am.

Any advice for those who are thinking about turning their dreams into a reality

My advice for anyone wanting to make a wish come true is to just jump on in. Find yourself someone who is willing to help you and drive passion forward. You can’t make your dream come true just wishing about it.
