Tell us a little bit about yourself?

First and foremost, I’m a mum of three. Family and friends are important to me. I’m an all or nothing gal. I’m a Psychologist and have been working in the area of mental health for over 15 years. I studied at the University of Sydney and did further studies. I promote mental well-being. I’m a part of a not-for-profit organization called This Is My Brave, we aim to spread mental health awareness and end the stigma that often comes with it.

I am continuously fascinated by the mind and how it works. I’m passionate about mental health. It sounds cliché, but it’s true. When I see people living a life to their full potential – it makes me smile ear to ear. Sixty percent of my clients are women. Teaching women how to empower themselves reminds me I’m responsible for my own selfcare. I relax with nature whether it be watering my plants or going for a walk. My fave place is any beach side. I’m currently learning how to surf.

Tell us about Lifestyle Psychology and how it came to be

Lifestyle Psychology I can proudly say is my private practice. Lifestyle Psychology was created to help people. Having worked in the public and private sector for years, I felt it didn’t allow me to make choices aligning with my values. I wanted people to incorporate their mental well-being into their lifestyle, I wanted people to be the best versions of themselves. You see, it’s not about changing who someone is, its identifying thought patterns and seeing where the person is stumbling.

How can we support Lifestyle Psychology?

We rise by lifting others. The core value behind Lifestyle Psychology is to help others achieve mental well-being. To do that we need to treat mental health the same way we treat physical health. We pay attention to it, we look after it, we talk about it. Talking about mental health is supporting Lifestyle Psychology. Find and follow Lifestyle Psychology on Facebook, Instagram – learn more about mental health. Spread the word. This helps all of us.

Any advice for those who are thinking about turning their dreams into a reality?Values. Have a long hard think about what your values are. Ask yourself if the choices you are making are in line with your values. If you value your dream, what steps have you taken towards it? Thinking alone is not taking action. Fear is a normal human response to anything that is not familiar to us, so when fear shows up hold its hand and make it walk with you towards your dreams.
