BOSS GIRL | KA’ILI

When we first approached super mum Kristy Giteau, founder of Win the Day, to see if she would be interested in featuring on our boss woman series, she insisted that 5 year old daughter Kai’ili was the real boss woman in their family.

After Ka’ili was diagnosed with a rare cancer in July 2019, Kristy created a Facebook page, Kak’s Journey for family and friends to follow her journey and watch Ka’ili kick cancer in the butt! This little warrior has captured the hearts of many, and is just about to capture yours. Ka’ili started kindy this year and we were so excited to chat with her about it.

What’s your name and how old are you?

My name is Ka’ili and I am five.

You started big school this year, how is it going?

Good. I love my friends, my teacher Miss Hodge, seeing my big sister and PLAY TIME!

Who is your biggest inspiration?

ME! Actually my sister Noa because she can do gymnastics and she is so nice!

What do you want to be when you grow up?

I want to be a dancer when I get bigger. A famous one!

What would you say to someone who is going through a tough time?

It is okay, try not to be sad, just play with dolls and hug your brother and sister. I also like to sleep in my mum and dad’s bed as well, so you can do that too!

Ka’ili’s strength, courage and positivity shines through in her infectious smile, she is definitely an inspiration to us here at The CBR Woman.
