A GIN AND TONIC WITH KELSEY FROM PALERANG PODIATRY

What is your drink of choice?

That’s easy! I love my gin & tonics for summer and a warm mulled wine by our firepit in the cooler months. Otherwise, there is always a perfect time for champagne!

Tell us a little bit about yourself?

I grew up on the Mid North Coast of NSW and grew up doing surf life saving, which resulted in doing that professionally for a few summers during my undergraduate degree – it was the best! My first job after university was in Rockhampton with Queensland Health doing remote outreach clinics for a few years. I then worked for NSW Health and also in private practice before making the move to Canberra in 2017 to work for Canberra Health Services. I live in Bungendore with my husband, 2 adorable dogs, 1 cheeky cat and 10 chickens! We love living in the country and having the convenience of the city “just up the road”.

Tell us about Palerang Podiatry and how it came to be?

An opportunity came up that allowed me to try my hand at opening my own practice – something I never believed I could ever do! I secured a cute little studio which suited my needs perfectly in the premises called ‘The Courtyard’ right in the middle of Bungendore. I am passionate about providing honest health care in a personalised way and the feedback from my patients so far has been that they love this approach. I offer a wide range of treatments to help my patients with their foot issues and honestly just love helping people with their foot health.

How can we support Palerang Podiatry?

If you have any foot issues? We treat anything from ingrowing toenails, foot/ankle pain, kids foot issues or if just want to treat yourself to our signature luxurious Medical Pedicure – jump onto our socials and you can book online. The businesses of Bungendore suffered with first the Bushfires and now COVID so why not make a day of it? Come out to Bungendore, have an appointment with Palerang Podiatry, then enjoy lunch at one of the local cafes or vineyards and browse our quirky shops before heading home.

Any advice for those wanting to turn their dream into a reality?

If you have a vision of what you want to achieve, don’t doubt yourself – just do it! I was intimidated by the “business” side of this at the start but that is what the professionals (like accountants) are for. You know your profession, remember that and utilise the expertise of others to help set up the rest. There are so many resources available online to help you get started – you just have to take the first step!
